This is the life!

Today had been a long day,

Pete had today off from work and so he got to come with me and Hadlee to her doctors appointment.

Hads got her blood drawn for the PKU testing and she sure didn't like that. It was the first time I saw tears roll down her face which broke my heart.

After that we ran to a couple of stores and went to lunch.

We all were worn out and headed home to fit in a nap. Like always our 30 min napped turned into 2 hours. I woke up to see Pete and Hadlee playing....which melts my heart! Since I was up Pete went back to bed. By this time it was 6:00 pm, I started to panic, it was a Friday night and I wanted to do something. I have been cooped up for the last 2 weeks and I wanted to get out and do something. I seriously cared so much about going and doing something. By this time Hads was sound asleep. I tired waking up Pete telling him that we were wasting our Friday night. He told me to give him a couple more minutes to sleep. I decided to get online and try to find a song I have been searching for. As I typed in the lyrics on you tube I came across this touching video......

Letter to Olive

As I watched this I couldn't help but cry. I looked over at my perfect little baby sound asleep on the couch and knew how blessed I was to be her mom. This is the life. Who cares if its Friday night and we are sitting at home doing nothing. Because we are doing something, we are spending time as a family! There is nothing better I would rather be doing or no one who I would rather be with. This is my PERFECT little family! My heart aches for those who have to watch there child die or suffer. Now I understand my parents more. There is nothing like the love you have for your child. Its been 2 weeks as of tomorrow and I can honestly say its been the most amazing 2 weeks of my life. This little girl has taught me so much. She has been so patient with us. There is nothing like hearing your little baby cry and as soon as you pick her up or she hears your voice she stopped because she knows her mom is here. Its AMAZING and something I wouldn't trade for the world! Its also amazing to see my love grow for Pete. I thought I couldn't love him more then I did. But there is nothing like seeing your husband with your daughter, changing her diaper, rushing to her crib when she makes any sound, coming home from work and being so excited to see her, just wanting to hold her every chance he gets. ITS AMAZING! So yes, our lives have changed. Our nights have turned into waking up every 2 hours and changing diapers or feeding, our weekend have turned into staying at home watching a movie and eating ice cream.... but I can't complain because... THIS IS THE LIFE! The life I have always dreamed of. I have a perfect daughter and a perfect husband and I couldn't be more blessed!

  1. This is one of those pay days that a parent is blessed with. Watching your child become a parent. I am so happy that this means so much to both of you. It is the best, the hardest, the most time consumming thing you will every do. Be proud and thankful for this opportunity. Your life will never be the same and you will wonder why you didn't have her in you life sooner. There will be many payday and some crazy days and days that are hard. But it is worth it. You were worth it to me even after six other children. I loved doing that experience over and over again. Thank you for sharing this new experience with me and your dad. We love you both... and Hadlee...
