We had time off from work and no where to go. At the very last minute, literally the night before we decided to go explore Charlotte. I had heard it was beautiful so we thought we would give it a go.
Me and the kids went with my Parents a day earlier then Pete because he had to work. Maxx was of course a champ on his first flight. Him along his sister is always fascinated by the safety pamphlet. Hadlee has it memorized and is trying to get Maxx to that point.
We arrived Late that night, picked up our rental car and headed to the hotel to check in.
The next morning we spent the day exploring the city of Charlotte. We went to Freedom Park to walk around and let the kids play. The weather was perfect and it was beautiful!
We needed to kill some time before picking up Pete from the airport so we went to a outlet Mall they had and shopped out little hearts out.. well some of us did. These two were beat.
That night before picking up Pete we stopped at Bubba's BBQ for some southern BBQ food.
We finally was able to pick up Pete just in time to go to bed!! Someone was pretty happy to see him.
Saturday, we hit the road early to go explore the Rocky Mountains.
Our first stop was the Apple Harvest in Waynesville, North Carolina.
We then drove a few hours to Gatlinberg, Tennessee. I fell in love with this place. It reminded me of Park City.
Time to go home...
